  • Ex vivo skin explant sources: Ex vivo Human skin tissues are obtained from patients undergoing plastic surgery
  • Consent form: Patients are anonymous and agreed to give their skin by signing a consent form 
  • Collecting, processing, and storage of Human skin tissues comply with legal and ethical requirements 
  • Ex-vivo Human skin models Sources: Adult skin samples from different parts of the body (example: abdomen, arm, leg) 
  • Full-thickness or Dermatomized (OECD 428 according to Skin Absorption) (or custom formats) 
  • Frozen,  Donor information includes age, sex, ethnicity, skin localization, phototype
  • All donors are HIV 1 & 2, hepatitis B and C virus negative 
  • Applications of the skin explant model: Ex-vivo skin tissue samples can be used in efficacy and safety testing of new compounds.
